We offer accommodation for international students at two campuses, Oko and Monobe. In Oko and Monobe, students can stay in the housing facilities for international students, also known as ‘International House’. Accommodation for families is also available in Monobe.

International Residence Hall (Oko campus)

Apartments

There is no dormitory for international students around Asakura campus, so many international students live in private apartments. These range in cost from 20,000 JPY to 45,000 JPY per month. Initial costs such as refundable deposit*, key money** and agency commission may apply (equivalent to three or four months' rent).
In order to rent an apartment, you need a guarantor. Kochi University does not provide an institutional guarantee service. Students who cannot find a guarantor are advised to use a guarantee company appointed by their real estate agency. We recommend a guarantee company called GTN, but ultimately your landlord/agency is responsible for choosing the company.
