Syllabus for Intensive Japanese Course, First Semester 2018 (Asakura Campus)
I. Outline
The course is for Monbukagakusho Scholarship students (embassy recommendation). The course starts in the third week of April. We offer 14 lessons (28 hours) per week in 15 weeks. The course involves Basic Japanese Grammar, Elementary Japanese Kanji & Vocabulary, Elementary Japanese Listening Comprehension & Conversation, Elementary Japanese Composition. Basic Japanese Grammar take place 10 lessons per week, Elementary Japanese Listening Comprehension & Conversation take place twice a week and Elementary Japanese Kanji & Vocabulary and Elementary Japanese Composition take place once a week.

Ⅱ. Course Levels
The course is for those who have never studied Japanese before. It helps students acquire basic level of Japanese in all four skills and minimum-level communication skills in Japanese on their research and campus life. It is expected that students will acquire basic knowledge. The goal is to attain level N5 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test for ElementaryⅠand level N4 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test for ElementaryⅡ.

“Basic Japanese Grammar ” is offered to complete beginners. Students learn the reading and writing of Hiragana and katakana syllabary and also practical basic conversation and necessary vocabulary in daily life and each situation. The goal is to attain level N5 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. |
